Julie E. Ruttan

Julie joined PLA in July 2008, bringing with her over 14 years of experience in government affairs.  Prior to joining PLA, Julie served six years as Legislative Director at Meyer Suozzi English & Klein PC and eight years with the NYS Assembly Majority in various administrative, committee and program capacities.

Julie has diverse experience with many levels of government:  Executive, Legislative and New York City Council.  Her background includes extensive bill tracking, writing and coordinating client support and opposition memorandums, legal research, organizing legislative advocacy campaigns at all levels, and ensuring that the lobbyist and client is in compliance with the NYS Public Integrity Commission.  Julie also has experience developing and coordinating budget requests with the Executive, State Legislature and NYC Councilmembers. 

In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from Russell Sage College, Julie earned her Master of Science in Community Health Education and holds a specialty certificate in Gerontology and Palliative Care Studies; both from Sage Graduate School.  

Julie’s attention to detail, organization and diverse background in government will always be at work for PLA’s clients.
