Julie E. Ruttan

Julie joined PLA in July 2008, bringing with her over 14 years of experience in government affairs. Prior to joining PLA, Julie served six years as legislative director at Meyer Suozzi English & Klein PC and eight years with the NYS Assembly Majority in various administrative, committee and program capacities.

Julie's portfolio includes diverse experience at many levels of government: the Executive, Legislative and New York City Council. Her background includes extensive bill tracking, writing client support and opposition memoranda, organizing legislative advocacy campaigns, developing and coordinating budget requests with the Executive, NYS Legislature and NYC Council Members and ensuring lobbyist and client compliance with the NYS Commission on Public Integrity.

In addition to a bachelor's of science in legal studies from Russell Sage College, Julie earned her master's of science in community health education and holds a specialty certificate in gerontology and palliative care studies, both from Sage Graduate School.

Julie's attention to detail, organization and diverse background in government are always at work for PLA's clients.
